Norfolk Chamber Consort Offers 'A French Valentine'

The Norfolk Chamber Consort will deliver "A French Valentine" at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, with a musical program of sensual and erotic works just in time for Valentine's Day.

Works will include Debussy's fabled "Chansons de Bilitis" and Ravel's mysterious "Sheherazade." Venezuelan-born cellist Aristides Rivas will return to join pianist Andrey Kasparov and violinist Pavel Ilyashov in Ravel's "Piano Trio."

Other performers include harpists Barbara Chapman and Vince Zentner, soprano Amy Cofield Williamson, flutist Bonnie Kim, pianist Oksana Lutsyshyn, actress Ailish Riggs and Allen Shaffer on celesta.

The concert, in Chandler Recital Hall of the Diehn Center for the Performing Arts, will be preceded by a lecture at 7:15 p.m.
