ODU Researchers to Present Economic Forecast for Virginia Peninsula April 30
The team of Old Dominion University researchers responsible for producing regional and national economic forecasts will present a Peninsula-specific forecast Monday, April 30, in Newport News.
Vinod Agarwal, professor of economics and director of the Economic Forecasting Project, will give the economic review and forecast for the communities lying north of the James River beginning at 8 a.m. at the Newport News Marriott in City Center.
For information about the free breakfast program, contact Katrina Davenport at 683-5138 or email@example.com.
The team of ODU researchers that produces the regional and national forecasts has a new member in Gary Wagner, professor of economics, who joined the College of Business and Public Administration (CBPA) faculty in January. He joins Agarwal and Mohammad Najand, professor of finance, in producing the reports, which are widely respected as accurate harbingers of the year ahead for the region and the country. Former Economic Forecasting Project member Gilbert Yochum is now dean of the CBPA.
At the Economic Outlook Conference in January, the team predicted economic growth of 1.97 percent for the entire Hampton Roads region, compared to national real Gross Domestic Product growth of 2.4 percent.
