Old Dominion University's Recreational Sports Department will be offering a series of Outdoor Adventure Programs for students, faculty and staff.

Registrations are currently being accepted for a learn-to-surf trip from 10:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23. Instructors will teach participants how to paddle, catch waves, and stand up and surf. Also, a two hour class will inform participants of weather education and safety, surfing etiquette, equipment knowledge and how to read the ocean's tides, rip currents and swells. Soft style surfboards are provided.

The cost is $5 for students and $10 for faculty and staff.

Registration forms are available in the Recreational Sports office in room 192 of the Health and Physical Education Building. Registrations are due by 12 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20.

A variety of programs are planned for the fall semester, including a free wilderness clinic Sept. 26 and a kayak trip Sept. 30.
