ODU HURRICANE RELIEF EFFORTS
The Old Dominion University campus community has organized a number of events to provide support and raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Efforts are being coordinated by the Center for Community Service and information can be found on its web site, http://studentservices.odu.edu/stuactivities/Volunteer/opportunities.htm. DONATIONS FOR THE AMERICAN RED CROSS DISASTER RELIEF FUND
Monetary donations can be dropped off Tuesday, Sept. 6 through Friday, Sept. 23 in the following locations:
*Campus Information Center, Webb University Center
*Retro Room, Webb Center
*All Dining Locations, Webb Center
*Customer Service Desk, Rollins Hall
RESIDENCE HALL PENNY WARS
Each resident assistant floor in the Old Dominion residence halls will be competing against each other to see who can raise the most money. The competition will take place from Thursday, Sept. 8 through Friday, Sept. 23. The winning resident assistant and floor residents will receive a party in the Retro Room.
HEALTH KIT DONATIONS AND ASSEMBLY
Donations of medical supplies will be taken to make health kits to send to Baton Rouge for distribution. The donation period is from Thusday, Sept. 8 through Saturday, Sept. 17. Specific items and donation locations will be listed Sept. 7 at http://studentservices.odu.edu/stuactivities/Volunteer/opportunities.htm. Volunteers are need to help assemble the kits from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17.
