ECONOMICS CLUB ANNOUNCES 2005-06 SCHEDULE
The Old Dominion University Economics Club of Hampton Roads has announced its 2005-06 luncheon speaker series schedule and new board members for the upcoming year.
Nancy Bagranoff, dean of the College of Business and Public Administration, will continue to serve as chairperson of the club; Irvine Hill, retired Cox Communications vice president of public affairs and community programming, continues as president; and Bruce Rubin, associate professor of finance and director of ODU's Master of Business Administration Program, serves as executive director and treasurer.
New board members are: Ron Dennis, president and chief operating officer of Farm Fresh; Elizabeth Patterson, president of Waypoint Advisors, LLC; and Channing A. Pfeiffer, chief executive officer and executive vice president of Tidewater Builders Association.
Co-sponsored by Old Dominion's College of Business and Public Administration, the monthly luncheons will begin at noon and cost $30 for nonmembers. Luncheons will be held at the Norfolk Marriott Waterside Hotel in downtown Norfolk. Due to limited space, reservations are required for all luncheons and can be made by calling 683-4058.

Sept. 28 - Rear Adm. Larry Hereth, commander, Fifth Coast
Guard District, U.S. Coast Guard
Oct. 12 - Glen Ayres, president of the Family Firm Institute.
Nov. 16 - Laurence Kotlikoff, economics professor at Boston University and research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research.
Dec. 8 - David Goode, chairman and chief executive officer of Norfolk Southern Corp.
Jan. 18 - Annual Economic Outlook Conference: Mark Zandi, nationally known economist with Regional Financial Association and founder of Economy.com, will present the national forecast. ODU's forecast team of Vinod Agarwal, Mohammad Najand and Gil Yochum will present their regional forecast. Program starts at 10:45 a.m.
Feb. 8 - Gary M. Pfeiffer, senior vice president and chief financial officer of DuPont.
March 22 - Jeffrey Bader, director of the China Initiative and senior fellow at The Brookings Institute.
April 26 - William Starbuck, ITT Professor of Creative Management at New York University's Stern School of Business.
