ODU ATHLETES SCORING BIG AT OLYMPIC GAMES
Marina DiGiacomo (ODU '01) scored a goal in the second half to help Argentina to a 3-1 victory over Japan Monday in field hockey play at the 2004 summer Olympic games in Athens. She scored at the 58-minute mark.
The four-time CAA Player of the Year and the NCAA's all-time leading scorer has played in both of Argentina's wins. Argentina is 2-1, defeating Spain 4-0 and Japan 3-1, losing to South Africa 2-1.
Team USA is 2-0 in women's basketball, defeating New Zealand, 99-47 and the Czech Republic, 80-61. Anne Donovan (ODU '83) is an assistant coach.
ODU sailor Charlie Ogletree ('89) will begin competition in the Tornado Class later this week.
