POLICE CARNIVAL POSTPONED UNTIL SUNDAY

The third annual Old Dominion University Police Department/Lambert's Point Community Softball Tournament and Carnival has been postponed because of weather concerns. The carnival will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, at Powhatan Field.

Heavy rain is forecast Saturday as the remains of Hurricane Charley pass through the Mid-Atlantic region.

Families, both from the surrounding community and the ODU faculty and staff, are invited to the free event. A moonwalk, dunking booth, music and prizes will be highlighted, as will the popular home run-hitting contest featuring ODU's public safety officers.
