HOUSEHOLD ITEMS NEEDED FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AT OLD DOMINION
The Office of International Programs is organizing a collection of household items for international students who will begin their studies at Old Dominion University later this month.
This service has long been requested by the international community and has often been suggested by many Old Dominion faculty and staff. The university's athletics department is joining international programs to conduct the drive.
Donated items -- household appliances, cookware, dishes, flatware, televisions, furniture, mattresses, pillows, bicycles, baby supplies -- may be dropped off at the very north end of the Foreman Field parking lot in front of the men's locker room between Gates 4 and 6 north. There will be an International Programs staff member at this location and signs to direct you. Donated items will be accepted from 3-6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, and 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 10.
A letter recognizing your donation for tax purposes will be provided. New international students will be able to select these free items for their use on August 15, 16 and 19.
