ODU ALUMNA HONORED WITH NATIONAL DENTAL HYGIENISTS AWARD
The American Dental Hygienists' Association has named Old Dominion University alumna Jackie S. Perry of Portsmouth as a recipient of the 2006 ADHA Distinguished Service Award. Perry received her bachelor's and master's degrees in dental hygiene from ODU in 2001 and 2003.
The award, which was presented in Orlando, Fla., in June, recognizes outstanding achievement and dedication to the profession of dental hygiene. Perry, who works at the Norfolk Naval Dental Center/Portsmouth Naval Hospital Dental Clinic, has served as an ADHA delegate for eight years and is a member of the association's Ethics Committee.
ADHA is the largest national organization representing the professional interests of more than 120,000 dental hygienists across the country.
