BRANCH NAMED ASSOCIATE DEAN OF EDUCATION
David Branch, chair of Old Dominion University's Department of Exercise Science, Sport, Physical Education and Recreation, has been named associate dean for undergraduate education and college services within the Darden College of Education.
As associate dean, Branch will be responsible for all aspects of undergraduate education programs within the college. He will also oversee college administrative and fiscal activities and programs for continuing education. The associate dean also will keep the college's undergraduate program current and nationally prominent by seeking to understand and meet the requirements of the dynamic and demanding fields within education.
Branch received his Ph.D. in exercise physiology from the University of South Carolina and his bachelor's in health and physical education from Furman University. He came to ODU in 1994 and, since fall 2002, has served one year as interim chair and almost two years as chair of his department.
