YIN XU RECEIVES NATIONAL ACCOUNTING AWARD

Yin Xu, assistant professor of accounting at Old Dominion University, has been named the 2002 Vangermeersch Award winner by the Academy of Accounting Historians. The prestigious award recognizes the achievements of new faculty in historical research of the accounting field.

Xu will receive the award at the American Accounting Association's national meeting in August in San Antonio.

Xu, who joined the faculty last year, teaches and conducts research in financial accounting. She received a bachelor's degree from the University of Akron, and a master's degree and Ph.D. in accounting from the University of South Carolina.
