WORKS BY ALBEE, SHAKESPEARE AND LLOYD WEBBER HIGHLIGHT 2001-02 THEATRE SEASON

The Old Dominion University Theatre has released its 2001-02 season of shows.

· Sept. 28-30, Oct. 3, 5-7: "The Zoo Story" and "The Sandbox" by Edward Albee, directed by Christopher Hanna. Show times are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Wednesday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. All shows at the Stables Theatre.

Acclaimed author and playwright Edward Albee will be on the Old Dominion campus Thursday, Oct. 4. Featured as part of the university's 24th Annual Literary Festival and the President's Lecture Series, Albee will speak at 8 p.m. on "The Playwright vs. The Theater" in the North Cafeteria of Webb Center.

· Oct. 12-14, 18-21, 25-28: William Shakespeare's "The Tempest," directed by Leon Ingulsrud. Show times are 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. All performances at the University Theatre.

· Oct. 26-28: Playtime Theatre for All Ages' "Goosey Lucy," written and directed by Frankie Little Hardin and based on "The Goose Girl" by the Grimm Brothers. Show times are 7 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. All performances at the Stables Theatre.

· Nov. 16-18, 27-30, Dec. 1-2: "The Laramie Project" by Moises Kaufman, directed by Erlene Hendrix. Show times are 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. All performances at the Stables Theatre.

· Feb. 22-24, 28, March 1-3, 7-9: "Jesus Christ Superstar," music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Time Rice, conceived by Tim O'Horgan and directed by Christopher Hanna. Show times are 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. All performances at the University Theatre.

· March 29-31: Playtime Theatre for All Ages' "Trashanator," written and directed by Frankie Little Hardin. Show times are 7 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Saturday, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. All performances at the Stables Theatre.

The University Theatre is located in Old Dominion's Technology Building at Hampton Boulevard and 46th Street. The Stables Theatre is located directly behind the University Theatre.

Ticket prices are as follows: $10 general admission, $6 for students; $7.50 for faculty and staff, and senior citizens. Tickets for Playtime productions are $3 for children and $4 for adults. For additional information or reservations call the University Theatre box office at 757-683-5305.
