Robert Tuleya, a faculty member at Old Dominion University's Center for Coastal Physical Oceanography, was featured in a recent "ABC World News Tonight" segment on hurricanes and global warming.

Tuleya, a retired hurricane modeler at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (GFDL) and an expert on hurricane formation, was quoted in the segment on a study he conducted with colleague Tom Knutson, a climate modeler for the GFDL, which said that global warming was expected to worsen hurricanes.
