SPORTS INFORMATION AND MARKETING WINS FIVE AWARDS AT CONVENTION
The Old Dominion University athletic public relations and marketing department was recognized with five awards for outstanding achievement in marketing and promotion at the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) annual convention June 21.
ODU received a gold award for single day men's basketball promotion and its student car give-away campaign. In addition, the department earned a silver award for ticket sales pieces, and bronze awards for Olympic sport single day promotion, sponsorship fulfillment and single day newspaper advertisement.
Awards are presented in 16 categories, with each category divided into three groups based on the school size and conference affiliations. Old Dominion competed with Group II institutions. NACMA is administered by NACDA, the professional and education association of more than 6,100 college athletics administrators at more than 1,600 institutions.
