XU DELIVERS PLENARY ADDRESS AT VIRGINIA NANOTECH CONFERENCE
X. "Nancy" Xu, Old Dominion University associate professor of chemistry and biochemistry, delivered a plenary address Tuesday, June 13, at the Virginia Nanotech 2006 conference of the Virginia Nanotechnology Partnership Initiative.
She was among six of the top nanoscale researchers in the state chosen to be plenary speakers at the three-day conference in Newport News. Other speakers were from the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech and Virginia Commonwealth University.
Xu presented work that has been carried out by her research group concerning the development of single nanoparticle optics for probes of membrane transport mechanisms in living cells. Her work is supported by grants from the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health.
