LOCAL AKA CHAPTER PRESENTS TOAST OF THE TOWN AWARD TO RUNTE

Old Dominion University President Roseann Runte was one of three area educational leaders who were honored recently with Toast of the Town awards
by Upsilon Omicron Omega Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. The local chapter presented a total of eight awards June 2 in celebration of its 10th
anniversary.

Runte, along with Norfolk State University President Carolyn Meyers and Tidewater Community College President Deborah DiCroce, was recognized for community service and professional achievement, matching the national AKA PLatform 4 - Undergraduate Signature Program.

In accepting the award, Runte saluted the local AKA chapter for its service to Hampton Roads.

Runte, Meyers and DiCroce, along with Louisa Strayhorn, who was recognized in accordance with Platform 1, Nontraditional Entrepreneur, are all members
of the Urban League board of directors.
