ODU'S JASON GODIN SELECTED IN FIFTH ROUND OF BASEBALL DRAFT
Old Dominion University junior Jason Godin, of Stafford, Va., was selected recently in the fifth round of the baseball draft by the Kansas City Royals. He was the 137th overall pick in the draft.
The 6-4, 195-pounder led the Colonial Athletic Association with 146 strikeouts in 115 innings during the 2006 season. Godin, who was named Collegiate Baseball's national player of the week twice, compiled an 8-3 overall record, including two shutouts against Navy and Northeastern.
Godin earned second-team All-CAA honors this year. He is the 22nd Monarch to be selected in the first 10 rounds of the draft.
