The Old Dominion Bookstore on May 16 will participate in a special promotion by the Regional Museums Coalition, a partnership formed by organizations and attractions of the Hampton Roads region, to celebrate National Tourism Week May 10-17.

By simply presenting any form of identification with an address in the cities of Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Newport News, Hampton, Smithfield, Yorktown and Williamsburg and the counties of James City, York and Isle of Wight, patrons may visit any participating museum for a "two-for-the-price-of-one" admission charge. Sites that do not charge admission will offer special merchandise discounts.

Other participating organizations include: Children's Museum of Virginia, Courthouse Galleries, Lightship Museum and Naval Shipyard Museum in Portsmouth; Endview Plantation, Lee Hall Mansion, The Mariners' Museum, Peninsula Fine Arts Center, Virginia Living Museum (May 10-16 only) and Virginia War Museum; Nauticus-The National Maritime Museum, Chrysler Museum of Art, Norfolk Convention & Visitors Bureau, Norfolk Botanical Garden (May 12-17 only), Norfolk Environmental Commission and Virginia Zoo in Norfolk; Virginia Marine Science Museum in Virginia Beach and Virginia Air & Space Center and Hampton University's University Museum in Hampton.

As a special service, hospitality employees (hotels, performing arts, restaurants, taxicabs, NET drivers, parking attendants and Public Safety Ambassadors) will gain free admission to participating museums (Norfolk Botanical Garden - May 12 -17 only) throughout the week with proof of employee identification (name tag, pay stub, business card).

In addition, all museum visitors during the May 10-17 period may register to win a Grand Prize of a free pair of round-trip tickets on Southwest Airlines, good for travel to any city Southwest services in the continental United States. Other prizes include drawings for gift baskets, courtesy of the individual gift shops at participating museums.
