THE DANCE THEATRE OF KERALA PERFORMS MAY 14

The Hindu Temple of Hampton Roads and Sangeet Sargam present The Legends of Kathakali Dance Theatre of Kerala performing "Duryodhana Vadham" at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 14, in Old Dominion University's Mills Godwin Life Sciences Building Room 102.

Kathakali is one of the oldest extant forms of stylized theatre. It is a group presentation in which dancers take various roles in performances traditionally based on themes from Hindu mythology. Kathakali is a harmonious and synchronized blend of several forms of artistic expression, such a literature, oral music, painting, acting, percussion and dance.
