ODU FACULTY TO DISCUSS PORT SECURITY ON "WITH GOOD REASON" MAY 3
Wayne Talley, professor of economics and director of Old Dominion University's International Maritime, Ports and Logistics Management Institute, and Ariel Pinto, assistant professor of engineering management, will be guests on the radio program "With Good Reason" Thursday, May 3.
A showcase for the research and expertise of faculty at Virginia's higher education institutions, "With Good Reason" can be heard in Hampton Roads on WHRV-FM (89.5) at 1:30 p.m. It can be heard live on the Web at www.whro.com.
The episode, titled "Where Were You When the Lights Went Out?," will focus on the massive power outage that hit eight northeastern states on Aug. 14, 2003.
Talley and Pinto will discuss port security in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, focusing on the ability of ports and governments to respond and recover once an incident has occurred.
