BATTEN COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY NAMES EXCELLENCE AWARD WINNERS

The Frank Batten College of Engineering and Technology announced its Excellence Award Winners at its biannual faculty and staff meeting April 26.

Awards are presented to members of the College who have excelled in a particular area. Honorees were presented with a plaque and given a reserved parking space in the lot behind Kaufman Hall.

The 2006 excellence award winners are:

Excellence in Teaching - Ravindra Joshi, professor in electrical and computer engineering

Excellence in Research - Vijayan Asari, associate professor in electrical and computer engineering

Excellence in Support Operations - Kim Sibson, faculty administrator in engineering management and systems engineering

Excellence in Faculty Advising - Wes Lewis, senior lecturer in engineering technology

Excellence in Industry Partnering - Jerry Robertson, director of the Virginia Applied Technology and Professional Development Center
