ODU STUDENT ART OPENINGS APRIL 30, MAY 1

A reception for art student Yvette Aponte-DiNapoli and her exhibit, "The Presence of Vernacular Objects," will be from 7-10 p.m. Saturday, May 1, at the SiO2 Glass and Fine Art Gallery, 329 W. 21st St., Norfolk. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call 626-1392.

Elliot's Fair Grounds will open "Macrocosm/Microcosm," an exhibition by graduating ODU senior Lisa Catron's metalwork, with a reception to be held from 7-9 p.m. Friday, April 30. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. The show will continue through May 14.

Fair grounds is located at 806 Baldwin Ave., in Norfolk, and is open from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Sundays. For more information, call 629-0360.
