Old Dominion University employees have between April 1 and May 1 to make health benefits plan and membership changes during open enrollment. Changes will be effective July 1.

Employees may enroll in another health care plan, enroll for the first time, add or remove dependents, or leave coverage as is.

EmployeeDirect, the commonwealth of Virginia's new health benefits and information system, will be available during open enrollment as an alternative to completing the Enrollment/Waiver form. To access EmployeeDirect on the Web, visit www.dhrm.state.va.us/hbenefit.htm

The Office of Human Resources wants to remind faculty and staff that this open enrollment period replaces the floating enrollment period formerly in place. The last day to exercise a floating enrollment option will be May 15 for an effective date of June 1.

Open enrollment will occur once each year for plan and membership changes. Changes during the year based on certain life events such as a Change in Employee's Employment Status, Change in Marital Status and Change in the Number of Employee's Dependents will still be allowed.
