BENEFIT AUCTION IS APRIL 15
Old Dominion University's Creative Writing program will host a charity auction/casino night to benefit its Writers in Community program from 7-10 p.m. Thursday, April 15, in the South Cafeteria of Webb University Center.
The non-profit outreach arm of the creative writing program, Writers in Community sends the program's students to area schools and civic groups for readings and writing workshops. Items being auctioned include a Norfolk mermaid, two Palm handheld organizers, a weekend in the Catskills, ballroom dance lessons, gift certificates, signed books and unique contirbutions from the MFA faculty.
Tickets are $10, which includes admission, light hors d'oeuvres and casino chips. A cash bar will be available and bluegrass group Three Legged Back Porch Collective will perform.
