WATERS RECEIVES PICKERING AWARD
Sandra Waters of Suffolk, director of academic continuance at Old Dominion University, has received the J. Worth Pickering Administrator of the Year Award, sponsored by the Association of University Administrators.
The Pickering Award recognizes evidence of major contributions that have made an impact on either the campus or off-campus communities.
Judy Bowman, ODU's assistant vice president for academic affairs, said in a nomination letter, "Sandy is truly deserving of being recognized as Old Dominion's Administrator of the Year. Through her work, she has made a difference to both advisers and students. She has a can-do attitude and is always willing to take on additional responsibilties. She is creative, dedicated, hard-working and a pleasure to work with. Sandy is a very valuable member of the academic affairs team."
A reception will be held from 4-6 p.m. Friday, April 16, in the James/Lynnhaven River Rooms of Webb University Center.
