ODU FALLS TO MICHIGAN IN THE NIT
Michigan defeated Old Dominion 66-43 on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden.
The Michigan Wolverines will play South Carolina in the championship game on Thursday night.
Trailing 21-14 with 12:14 left in the first half, Michigan held the Monarchs without a field goal for the rest of the half. The Wolverines outscored the Monarchs 19-3 over that stretch.
Old Dominion would get no closer than eight the rest of the way as Michigan ended the game on a 18-5 run.
ODU played the entire second half without 6-7 junior forward Arnaud Dahi, due to a sprained right knee. All-CAA forward Alex Loughton was limited because of a sprained left ankle from the Hofstra game.
Loughton completed his career at ODU with 1642 points, which ranks him tenth all-time at ODU. He finished with 952 career rebounds and moved up to sixth all-time at ODU. Isaiah Hunter finished his career with 1,425, which ranks him 17th.
