FLAGS LOWERED TO HONOR SISISKY

Flags at Old Dominion University and across Virginia were lowered to half-staff in honor of U.S. Rep Norman Sisisky, who died Thursday at his home near Richmond and was buried yesterday.

The 73-year-old Sisisky, a Democrat who represented the 4th District since 1983, was released from the hospital two days ago following surgery for lung cancer. The 4th District includes parts of Hampton Roads. Before being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, he served in Virginia's House of Delegates for eight years.
