NEW STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT ELECTED

Old Dominion University students have elected D'Ontae D. Sylvertooth as the 2006-2007 student government association president.

A graduate student studying public administration from Detroit, Mich., Sylvertooth is an active member of the Old Dominion campus. He has served as president for Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity and vice president of the National Pan-Hellenic Council.

Sylvertooth previously held the position of educational chair for the Black Student Alliance and served on the student conduct committee.

Running on the platform of increased campus security, Sylvertooth proposed the creation of a campus wide security task force. Other issues he proposed include the creation of a break room in Perry Library, the formation of a Greek contingency fund and the development of an off-campus housing information site for students.
