CHO TO SPEAK ON QUANTUM COMPUTATION AT ODU
Old Dominion University will host Peter Cho as he discusses "A Theoretical Physics Underpinning of Quantum Computation" at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, in the James-Lynnhaven River Room of Webb University Center.
Cho works at the Massachusetts Institute for Technology (MIT) Lincoln Labroatory. The laboratory has recently become involved in the research of quantum computing and applying it in other areas. His talk will present some of the basic theoretical physics underlying quantum computing efforts, and we describe how quantum physics may be exploited to perform useful information processing.
The talk is sponsored by the Lasers and Electrooptic Society (LEOS) Hampton Roads Chapter. For more information contact A.N. Dharamsi at 683-4467.
