FACULTY SUMMER TEACHING IN JAPAN
The University of Kitakyushu in Japan, a long-time Old Dominion University partner, has offered Old Dominion University the opportunity to send one professor to teach American Society/American Culture to their students this summer.
Classes will be conducted from August 18-22, three classes a day (90 minutes per class), including Saturday and Sunday. The professor will teach a series of 15 classes. The rate of compensation for each class is 11,700 yen per class (approximately $112 in US dollars). Housing will be provided by the University of Kitakyushu.
Airfare will be provided by the Office of International Programs. Recent participants in the program include: Jonathan Appel (2004) and Stacey Plichta (2003). The program is open to full-time faculty from any relevant discipline. If you are interested in this opportunity, please submit an application form by Friday, April 1.
