ODU STUDENT'S ARTWORK ON DISPLAY IN OCEAN VIEW

Ocean View Chiropractic in Norfolk will open an exhibition of artwork titled "Complicated Simplicity: The Drawings of Old Dominion University senior John Mentz" through April 30.

A reception will be from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, April 3.

The show features a selection of colorful abstract landscapes and is free and open to the public. Inspired by the complex potential of childlike doodles, Mentz has created a series of colored pencil drawings utilizing natural and organic forms and widely textured surfaces, bringing visual interest to ordinary landscapes.

The exhibition fulfills one of the final requirements for graduation with a bachelor of
fine arts degree in studio art. Ocean View Chiropractic, located at 9617 Granby
St., Norfolk, is open 8:30 a.m. to noon and 2-6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday; 1-6 p.m. Wednesday; 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday; and 7 a.m. to noon Saturday.
