KASPAROV EXHIBIT ON DISPLAY THROUGH APRIL 29
The Old Dominion University libraries present an exhibit, "Contemporary Music Research Collection: Spotlight on Andrey Kasparov." The exhibit will be on display 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. Monday through Friday through April 5 in the Diehn Fine and Performing Arts Center Room 189 and from 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Friday from April 6-29 in the Diehn Fine and Performing Arts Center foyer.
The exhibit focuses on the accomplishments and work of composer Andrey Kasparov, an ODU faculty member. Included will be a photographic documentation of his life in the international world of music, his scores, manuscripts, awards and a correspondence with Peter Bartok.
Three of Kasparov's personal videos will also be available for viewing, including his performance of George Crumb's Makrokosmos at the Paris Conservatoire, a performance of Ton de Leeuw's Invocations in Chandler Hall and a performance of Rachmaninoff's piano concerto No. 3 in Terre Haute, Ind.
