HIGHER ED CONSORTIUM HOSTS OPEN HOUSE FRIDAY
The Virginia Tidewater Consortium for Higher Education will host a Student Leadership Conference at Old Dominion University's Virginia Beach Higher Education Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21. The event is open to peer educators, students and counselors from the 15 consortium institutions, which include Christopher Newport University, Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk State University, Old Dominion University, Regent University, and Tidewater Community College.
The conference will include sessions on personal leadership, relationship management, social norms, legal liability, and how to control substance abuse and tobacco use. Presenters include Lori Hobson, Norfolk State; Linda Hancock, Virginia Commonwealth University; Kelly Crace, College of William and Mary; Mark Blagen, Old Dominion University; and Special Agent Joseph Cannon, Virginia Department of Alcohol Beverage Control.
