Workshop presenters are needed for SPEAK 2002, a multicultural fair for officers from student clubs and organizations at Old Dominion University, April 6.

The fair is sponored by the Latino Student Alliance, Asian Pacific American Student Union and Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual Students and Allies in conjunction with the offices of Multicultural Student Services and Student Activities and Leadership.

SPEAK 2002 seeks to help participants to achieve higher levels of awareness, sensitivity and competence in dealing with people of various cultures. Interactive sessions for which presenters are needed include: language use and how commonly-used words solidify stereotypes and social constructs; diverse groups within society and; development of multicultural competence and encouraging action.

Presenters should focus on how each topic affects students as individuals, members of student organizations and as members of society.
