KARNES RECEIVES AWARD FROM ASSOCIATION OF FRATERNITY ADVISORS
Kelly Jo Karnes, associate director for student activities and leadership at Old Dominion University, was recently named Outstanding Volunteer by the Association of Fraternity Advisors (AFA). Karnes serves as faculty adviser to all social fraternities and sororities at ODU.
The award, which recognizes members who have exceeded expectations in service to their university, was presented at the annual AFA meeting in Atlanta. Karnes' nomination form described her as having "a commitment to the membership of the association as seen by the caring way in which she interacts and supports her inter-fraternal colleagues."
The AFA represents 1,400 fraternity and sorority professionals throughout the United States and Canada.
