Old Dominion University and the Lady Monarchs basketball team will celebrate the 20th annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day by sponsoring a symposium at the Ted Constant Convocation Center at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3.

The symposium will focus on the importance of physical activity, health, nutrition and the benefits of sports for middle and high school girls. It will feature a panel of athletes, trainers, former Olympians and current Old Dominion athletes. Celebrated by educators, coaches, athletes and parents across the nation, the event is sponsored by the National Girls and Women in Sports Coalition, the YWCA and Girl Scouts of America.

Immediately following the symposium, the Lady Monarchs will take on Drexel University at 7 p.m. at the Constant Center.

Admission to the symposium is free with the purchase of a game ticket. For more information call 683-5000.
