CRGS LECTURE IS WEDNESDAY

Old Dominion University's Center for Regional and Global Study presents a faculty research presentation with Jeffrey Jones of ODU's Department of Communication and Theatre Arts titled "Do You Want Democracy with Those Fries: Pop Culture's Role in Supporting Democratic Values" at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, in room 706 of the Batten Arts and Letters Building.

Jones' presentation will focus on the ways in which popular culture, often conceived as a place of spectacle, amusement, and distraction from the needs of citizenship, instead can play an important role in supporting democratic values and practices.
