Financial success today involves more than earning a good living. It means investing wisely. Sheltering it from taxes and combating the effects of inflation and using it to build a financial program can help you prepare for retirement.

Old Dominion University's Department of Human Resources is pleased to present a workshop where you can acquire the knowledge and skills you need to make the most of your money. "Personal Financial Management" is being offered by AIG VALIC and will be presented by Marvin Ball.

This workshop is purely educational, and no financial products or services will be offered for sale. You will receive quality instruction in an easy-to-understand presentation and financial strategies that can help you reduce your debt and increase your cash flow; cut your taxes and increase your disposable income; choose investments wisely; protect your property and assets from risk; calculate how much money you need to retire; conserve your estate and leave more to your heirs.

To enhance your learning experience, you will receive the Personal Financial Management Workbook, which contains information, exercises and worksheets that guide you through the presentation and help you apply what you learn. It is yours to keep once you complete the workshop.

There will be two sessions offered from 8 a.m. to noon and 1-5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, in the Richmond Room of Webb Center. You must register for the session that you wish to attend.

Call 683-4760 to register. Classified employees must have their supervisor's permission to attend.
