ODU'S ROBERTSON NAMED TO TGIC COMMITTEE
Jerry Robertson, director of applied technology in Old Dominion University's Frank Batten College of Engineering and Technology, was recently elected to the executive committee of the Tidewater Government Industry Council (TGIC).
Robertson, who will serve as the committee's educational representative for a two-year term, has been a part of the ODU community since 1981. Prior to his current position at the university he was the resident engineer for the Batten College of Engineering and Technology. Robertson, who has 10 years of experience working in the industrial sector, is a registered professional engineer in Virginia and a certified manufacturing engineer.
TGIC's purpose is to provide effective avenues of communications, cooperation and consultation among government activities in the Hampton Roads area and private industry in order to improve the productivity of contracting and the quality of the end product for the mutual benefit of both government and industry. The executive committee consists of representatives from both the government and industry sectors.
