BIG BLUE'S BIRTHDAY PARTY WILL BE A TREAT FOR BASKETBALL FANS

Big Blue, Old Dominion's mascot, will celebrate his birthday on Saturday, Jan. 6, with free cake and ice cream for fans of all ages before the Monarchs take on American in a Colonial Athletic Association basketball contest.

The festivities will begin in the Field House at 6:30 p.m., followed by the game at 7:35 p.m. Big Blue and his mascot friends will be available for autographs during the pre-game party and will participate in a unique halftime scrimmage.

The birthday treats are being provided by Kroger, sponsor of the Big Blue Buddies.

The game is one of Old Dominion's family fun nights. A family of four can be admitted for $30, which includes tickets to the game, four hot dogs, four sodas and four popcorns. Tickets must be purchased at the ticket window on game night. For more information call 683-4444.
