HOMECOMING PEP RALLY 12:30 TODAY IN WEBB CENTER

Homecoming 2005 continues today with a Pep Rally at 12:30 p.m. in the South Mall of Webb University Center. Hosted by the Student Ambassadors, the rally will feature some of Old Dominion's best athletes, free cake and exciting give-a-ways. Take part in a Spirit Contest by wearing your craziest ODU Monarch Gear. Test your Monarch chant abilities by entering the Monarch Chant Contest. Both contests will be judged by the audience and the winners will receive great ODU prizes.

In celebration of Old Dominion University's 75th anniversary, Homecoming 2005, "Monarchs Are Forever," offers everything from a parade, basketball and free food to a step show, concert and Homecoming Party at the Village. The celebration runs through Sunday, Nov. 20, when the Lady Monarchs take on the Duke Blue Devils at 2 p.m. in the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

Twista, Three-6 Mafia, Jim Jones and Trey Songz will perform at the homecoming concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. Tickets are available for ODU Students in advance at the Campus Info Center in Webb and the Ted Box Office. Advance cost is $16 per ticket with a student ID and students are limited to two tickets each.

The popular homecoming parade at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, will kick off Homecoming Party at the Village, a free block party on Monarch Way featuring a hot dog eating contest sponsored by Perfectly Frank, the "Battle of the Halls" step show at 2:30 p.m. and outdoor concert by Butter at 3:30 p.m. Eric Worden from BOB-FM will also be on hand to host the festivities.

Homecoming 2005 events are sponsored by: Old Dominion Athletics, Monarch Dining Services, Multicultural Student Services, Office of Student Activities and Leadership, ODU Real Estate Foundation, Recreational Sports, Office of Student Housing, Student Activities Council and Student Affairs.
