RECORD NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS EXPECTED AT COMMUNITY CARE DAY THIS SATURDAY

More than 600 volunteers have registered for ODU's second annual Community Care Day Saturday, Oct. 16. Volunteers will clean up area neighborhoods, visit local retirement facilities as well as the Virginia Zoo, Stockley Garden's Arts Festival, the American Cancer Society and more. Volunteers will host seminars on home, lawn and garden care, health care and safety and college admissions tips. Other events include kids' cookie decorating fun, a planetarium show, an international culture bazaar, oral health screening and child safety seat inspections. All events are free and open to the public.
