Dodge Presents at Nuclear Physics Symposium

Gail Dodge, chair of the Old Dominion University Department of Physics, was an invited presenter in Boston on Sunday, Feb. 17, at a symposium, "Nuclear Physics: New Answers, New Questions About the Visible Universe," held during the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

Dodge, who is a nuclear experimentalist affiliated with the Thomas Jefferson National Acceleration Facility in Newport News, spoke on the topic of "Nucleon Spin Puzzle."

Other speakers at the symposium were Don Geesaman of Argonne National Laboratory in Illinois; John Negele of MIT; Elizabeth Beise of the University of Maryland; Raffaella De Vita of the Instituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare in Genova, Italy, and also a Jefferson Lab researcher; and Drew Weisenberger of Jefferson Lab.

Beise and Ronald Gilman of Rutgers University organized the symposium.

Close to 6,000 people attended the AAAS meeting Feb. 14-18.
