Film/Media, Power, and Change: Film and Video's Role in Enabling an Engaged Citizenry

With the arrival of low-cost video and film production equipment as well as new avenues of distribution via the Internet and other new technologies, citizens now have unprecedented opportunities for a more active voice in the political life--both locally and nationally. This panel will explore how these lower barriers to participation can or should be exploited in Hampton Roads, and in particular, how film and video can enable a more engaged and active citizenry.
