Office of International Programs








The University of Kitakyushu, located on the southern island of Kyushu, Japan, is a long-time ODU partner that has offered Old Dominion University the opportunity to send one faculty member to teach a brief American Society/American Culture related course to their students this summer. Classes will be conducted for one week in late August/ early September, 2014.


The ODU faculty member will teach 15 classes total at 90 minutes each (4.5 hours per day for 5 days). The rate of compensation for each class is 11,700 yen per class (approximately $114 USD per class).  Housing will be provided by the University of Kitakyushu and airfare will be provided by the Office of International Programs. 

The program is open to full-time faculty from any discipline.

Recent participants in the program include:  Linda Bennington (2013), Ariel Pinto (2012), David Roh (2011),

and Victoria Time (2008).
