Intensive English Program
The Old Dominion University English Language Center (ELC) specializes in full-time and part-time university coursework in English as a second language. The ELC offers a six-level intensive program for students who need in-depth study of English and a Bridge Program for students who are conditionally accepted by the university. Sessions begin in January, March, May, June, August, and October. We also host specially designed programs for professionals or groups of students. The ELC is a member of UCIEP and AAIEP.
How to Apply
To apply, prospective students must first print and complete the application form.
With the application, you must send the following:
- Application fee (a check or money order for US$50.00).
- ELC Financial Certificate or financial statement from the sponsor's bank with a specific amount of money on deposit to verify the sponsor's ability to pay expenses.
- A letter from the financial sponsor (parents, relatives, government, etc.) stating that the sponsor will guarantee payment of the student's living and education expenses during his or her stay in the United States. All documents must be original with original signatures. No photocopies or faxes are accepted. If the English Language Center's Financial Certificate form is completed, a separate letter and/or financial statement is not necessary.
- Courier service fee (a check or money order for US$35.00) Courier service is optional. International airmail will be used if the courier service fee is not paid.
If a student is transferring from another college or school within in the U.S., he/she send the Transfer-In Form for F-1 Visa Holders. The Transfer-In Form can be found here.
