Our office supports students as they prepare to go abroad, while they are abroad and upon their return to campus. Students typically experience a transition (reverse culture shock / reentry shock) when they return to the U.S. after their study abroad experience. Some students may experience a mild transition while others may experience a more difficult transition. We encourage you to read Dr. Bruce La Brack and Margaret D. Pusch's "Twelve Tips for Welcome Returnees Home" in order to assist your student with his/her return to the U.S.
