Monarch Mornings Begin Anew
Last week, I revived my Monarch Morning chat sessions that I began last summer to listen to the concerns, questions, ideas and suggestions of faculty and staff.
My goal is clear: to be an effective leader, I need to not only articulate my aspirations for the institution, but also to listen to the voices of the campus in setting those goals.
Not surprisingly, in the first few sessions, the state budget has been at the top of most people's minds. While everyone is grateful that higher education received no additional cuts this year, the campus is concerned about what future years hold and how the university is planning for those possibilities.
And, like last summer's sessions, faculty and staff are full of excellent ideas and suggestions on a variety of ways to make university life even better than what it currently is.
There are several sessions coming up and I hope you'll join me.
