Thank You...

I am grateful and appreciative to the members of the Board of Visitors for extending my contract through 2014. It is a positive reflection on the work everyone performs at Old Dominion University.

Naming names is always a dangerous venture, since many deserving people are always omitted.

However, I must personally thank Rector Ross Mugler and former Rector Marc Jacobson for their willingness to offer wisdom and counsel, sometimes on a moment's notice.

I also wish to publicly thank the vice presidents, deans, faculty, staff and students for all the great things they do daily to raise the profile and recognition of Old Dominion University.  

Any success even partially attributed to me must also be shared with alumni, community leaders, donors and elected officials, who aid in our efforts to make Old Dominion University an even greater place.

Finally, a special thank you to my wife, Kate, and my three sons. I could not begin to tackle the challenges of this opportunity without their patience, advice, support and love.
