ODU Grad Takes Mayoral Oath in Portsmouth
Old Dominion University alumni have made their marks in so many areas, from television and film to sports, business and even the great frontier of space.
On Thursday, alumnus Kenny Wright was sworn in as mayor of the city of Portsmouth, joining a long and distinguished line of ODU alumni who serve our cities, state and country as elected officials. Wright, who received a bachelor's degree in engineering technology in 1991, owns a naval engineering firm and is known for his philanthropy and volunteerism with local schools and service on a number of city boards.
Congratulations, Mr. Wright, and thank you to all our alumni who are daily making a positive impact. You are the pride of Old Dominion University.
